Make the library a frequent stop on your Christian pathway.

January 14, 2010

The 3rd  meeting of the Cornerstone Mitford Book Club was held at  the home of  Dr. Christine Calvert.

Christine served Miss Rose’s Banana Pudding in beautiful crystal compote dishes.   Mary Lou McDaniel provided delicious spiced tea served in Christine’s lovely china teacups.

Alas,  the camera was forgotten and no photographs were made to record the day.  Nonetheless  the lovely memory will remain in the hearts of all who attended.

These High Green Hills, the 3rd novel of the “Mitford Years” series written by Jan Karon was reviewed using a short list of questions about the characters and their significance in that novel.

The meeting for next quarter is  set for April 15th, 2010 at 2:00p.m. This meeting will be held at the Cornerstone UMC Library, Rooms 222 & 223 of the education building.

This quarter’s book is the forth novel, Out to Canaan.

Refreshments will be from the Sweet Stuff Bakery—Winnie’s chocolate cake and Earl Grey Tea. See page 312.

The author’s new book, Party of Four  is to be out in October 2010

          Miss Rose’s Banana Pudding

A teaparty is one of life’s most restoring moments.   We put aside our worries and savor a few of life’s small treasures— a good cup of tea, a sweet dessert, and the healing companionship of our friends.
